Metal Parts Inspection

How It Fits Into an Existing Line

Automated visual inspection does not require replacing your production line. Cameras are installed at the point where parts are already produced or handled, alongside your existing machinery, with no new equipment needed to run the process itself.

The inspection software runs locally on edge hardware at the inspection point. This machine vision inspection system does not depend on a cloud connection to make a pass or fail decision, so it keeps working even if the plant network goes down.

When a defect is found, the system sends a signal to your existing automation over the plant's industrial ethernet network, using the same protocols your line already runs on. Your own integrator handles the programmable logic controller (PLC) side of that connection; TARKO does not write PLC logic or reconfigure your automation directly.

This is what makes automated visual inspection practical to add to a running line: it observes and signals, without becoming a dependency your line cannot function without. Camera placement, lighting and the exact integration point are worked out per part during a feasibility review, not assumed in advance.

Does automated visual inspection require stopping my production line to install?

No. Cameras are installed alongside your existing line during a scheduled changeover or planned downtime, similar to any other equipment addition. The goal is zero disruption to your ongoing production schedule.

What kinds of defects can a machine vision inspection system catch?

Anything visible in an image: surface defects like cracks and pits, shape and dimensional deviations, missing features, and fill defects on moulded parts. Defects with no visual signature, like an internal void, need a different inspection method.
