Automated Visual Inspection for PPE Compliance
PPE compliance monitoring is an automated visual inspection application that checks whether workers in defined zones of a factory floor are wearing required personal protective equipment, such as helmets, gloves and safety glasses.
The problem
Safety compliance is usually checked by spot walks and manual audits, which only capture a snapshot in time. A zone that is compliant during a walkthrough is not necessarily compliant an hour later.
How it works
Cameras cover defined zones, such as an entry point or a machine cell where specific PPE is required. The system checks each frame for the presence of the required equipment on people in that zone and flags a non-compliant event. Inference runs locally, with no dependency on a cloud connection.
This application is scoped to detecting the presence of required safety equipment in defined zones. It is not a facial recognition system, and it is not designed or sold as a general employee productivity or performance tracking tool.
